Introducing Evergreen, the app that teaches teenagers how to get the most out of their money through investing and developing good spending and saving habits. In designing Evergreen it was important to not just create another finacial app that's geared towards a younger audience, but instead offer a platform that encourages teens to feel confident about their money by offering them access to classes and video tutorials related to investing, saving, and correcting bad spending habits.
Understanding The End-User
In my personal design process I always start by empathizing with the users. Stepping into users' shoes and understanding their frustrations and desires can reveal extremely benefitial information that can potentially set a product up for great sucess. For the Evergreen project I did just this, starting by researching teenagers and their thoughts on finances. According to a Fox Business article from 2016, 83% of teens don't know how to manage money. The reason? “They do want to learn, but right now they don’t have the tools they need.” says Laura DiLello, ING Direct spokesperson. That's where Evergreen comes in. With the Evergreen app, teens are given all the tools they need to get the most out of thier money. Though Evergreen isn't just for teens as it can be used by anyone who desires to learn about saving and investing money while developing healthy spending habits that's sure to increase their confidence. With Evergreen, there's no more breaking the bank.
The usability study I conducted for Evergreen involved studying a user's frustrations and pain points along with their emotions and verbal expressions when completing tasks. I noted that users found it easy to navigate between screen, but were not sure what screen they were on at times. This prompted me to add labels to each page so user's could easily determine which screen they were viewing.
Evergreen is a design I'm very proud of as I spent a lot of time refining it and iterating on new ideas based on feedback from the usability testing.

Tasked with designing and developing a modern, minimalistic website for Island Property, a real estate and vacation rental agency serving Islesboro, Maine. Using Wix’s advanced editor and database management tools, I iterated on vdesigning the user interface, researching, and developing the website keeping usability in mind.

Selected to lead the sales marketing & customer experience (CX) for CQC, utilizing and increasing my knowledge of Mailchimp email campaigns and website development/maintenance with Shopify and Squarespace sites and DNS and CDN management. Enhanced their online presence by scaling social media presence and conducting SEO keyword research by analyzing the target audience.
